Summer Programme: Part 1 Life Drawings

Perfect timing for those of us whose Art withdrawal has already set in, Katherine has put together a list of ongoing life drawing drop-in classes around London.

This will form part 1 of our Summer Programme (TM). If you like the look of any of the events shown, please leave a comment below as the people might also want to go can form a little team.

Hope to see you all at point point over the next couple of months, otherwise have a brilliant summer!

End of year 1, and thank you!

Colleagues and friends:

Year 1 at the CLFA is now officially over. We drew, we painted, we printed, we sculpted, we laughed, we cried and we wanted to thank Chris and Tony for all the extra effort and support they have given to the course and all of us, but how?

Answer: Mugs:

                          ^^This one says "Nicely Done!"

Yr 1 Final drawing Project with Tony: the results...

It's almost worth the cube torture in lesson 1 isn't it; well done everyone for the excellent work!

Year 1 Tutorials This Thurs 10 July

Hello all:

For those that missed the class last week, Chris came in and spoke about the end of year tutorials taking place this Thurs. As far as I know he and Scott (from the sketchbooks module) will be doing them, and he has set us a few things to consider prior to the session (see below, mainly points 2 to 5). He also stressed the importance of reviewing and archiving the work that we have each produced so far, since in hindsight they may contain "gems" that you didn't notice when you were making them. We're advised to at least keep good photographic records if not the real thing.

We will also have a end of year social, one idea is to go to the private view next Thurs then to the pub. Nothing is set so let me know what your preferences are.

We will also be organising a summer programme including trips to the seaside, exhibitions, workshops/drawing etc, keep checking the blog!

Introduction to Graphic Novels @ Saatchi Gallery 6th July

Some of us went to the graphic novel workshop on Sunday.

We were asked to work from a photograph from our own collection, and develop a storyline by drawing on small oblong bits of paper (thumbnails). We then worked out a narrative and decided on a rough page layout by arranging the thumbnails on a bigger piece of paper.

Dear all:

Both Morley College and the Mary Ward Centre are running end of year shows (thanks to Jean for the heads up), a nosy round wouldn't hurt.
