Dulwich Art Group Painting and Drawing sessions

I used to go to this place on Thurs evening before City Lit. This is untutored but artists-led, they are a social bunch and there's a voluntary constructive crit at the end.

Wednesday 12th March 12.00-3.00pm
Thursday 13th March 7.00-9.30pm
Saturday 16th March 10.00am -1.00pm

Is it not a huge relief to see the sun again? Nature looks like it's kicking off, can you feel your creative sap rising?

The Wednesday Introduction to Life drawing continues at 7.30pm and we've got the second week of our Portrait Workshop on Sunday at 10.00am. Both groups are full. Also thank you to all of you who came to our nude wrestlers session and helped to make it such a fun event. The quality of work was exceptional and the wrestlers were very professional, making our job easier than I'd imagined, a tremendous evening all round. If you missed it don't fret, we had such a good time we'll certainly be doing it again.

We have chosen a seated pose for Esther with a slight turn to the head. This will be the second week of this three week pose. Alison tells us that she will be providing more sandwiches this week as we had a flurry of enthusiasm last week that left some hungry.

Many of you will know Alex who has been teaching his fluent style for some years now. His website is here There are more and more independent art schools popping up which are focused on realist art and which offer clear instruction. Alex teaches at one of them so this is a good way to find out if this way of learning would suit you. You'll learn how to draw with charcoal in proportion and with tonal accuracy. If this appeals to you then think about coming along on Wednesday evenings after Easter - more info on the website here.
